What we do

  • We support Edmund Rice Education Australia, Youth+ Leadership Team, Networks and the Flexible Learning Centres to enhance culturally inclusive learning choices that responds to the physical, intellectual, social, spiritual and cultural needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and embeds Indigenous perspectives in the curriculum.
  • Seek emerging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander programs and funding opportunities.
  • Provide support and advice on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander programs.
  • Assist Youth+ and Networks to maintain currency with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education policies and program developments.
  • Facilitate and lead consultation and response from FLC staff on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education issues.
  • Enhance Youth+ expression of the Edmund Rice Education Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Response (2014).
  • Support the development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff.
  • Ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural knowledge and capability is grown amongst staff.
  • Lead conversation and the development of Youth+ Reconciliation Action Plan.
